You don’t need to be flexible, fit or experienced to begin. Iyengar Yoga teaches you step by step, helping you understand your body, build confidence and develop a practice at your own pace.

Learn how to position your body correctly in each posture. Your teacher guides you through the details, helping you develop stability, balance and a better understanding of how your body works.

Iyengar Yoga adapts to you, wherever you are in your practice and whatever stage of life you are experiencing. There are different approaches to support the body through puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, post-pregnancy, motherhood and menopause, as well as practices for specific injuries, physical challenges and the demands of different sports.

Our bodies change as we move through life, and our practice can change with them. Whether you are a complete beginner or have been practising for many years, there is always something new to discover. Beginners build a strong foundation, while more experienced students continue to refine their understanding and explore the postures in greater depth.

We never stop learning. The more we study, observe and experience, the more we realise there is still to understand. That is part of what makes the practice so rewarding.

What to expect from an Iyengar class

Iyengar Yoga offers a varied and carefully planned practice, with different postures and sequences rather than the same routine every day. This helps develop strength, flexibility and body awareness while reducing unnecessary strain.

You’ll progress at your own pace, building a strong foundation before moving on to more challenging postures. As your practice develops, your teacher may also introduce pranayama, the practice of breath control.

A safe, structured approach to learning yoga, one step at a time.
